Lee Wakemans was pleased to be invited to Bryngarw Country Park by Richard Hughes, Chief Executive of Awen Cultural Trust, and Christopher Britton, Head of Green Space and Community Skills, for a tour of the park and its facilities.
The visit provided an opportunity to learn more about the park, its future potential, and the important role Awen plays in managing and promoting cultural venues, green spaces and community-focused places across South Wales.
The tour included the park’s fantastic range of facilities, including the Japanese Garden, wetlands and historic Bryngarw House, which is used for corporate functions and weddings.
A particular highlight was the newly built Y Nyth, an impressive purpose-built space overlooking the River Garw. The venue provides a unique setting for corporate volunteering, team building, workshops, meetings and community activities.
Charlotte Evans and Richard Kingston were both impressed by the breadth of what Bryngarw Country Park has to offer, from its natural landscape and wildlife to its built facilities and opportunities for organisations to engage with the space in a meaningful way.

Awen’s work as a non-profit charity, creating and managing spaces where people can gather, connect, create and engage with culture, is well worth recognising. Bryngarw Country Park is a wonderful local destination for families, organisations and community groups alike.
