The Institute in the Park, located at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool, is a £10 million healthcare and education facility developed by Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Liverpool. It serves as a resource for learning and supports collaboration, research, and innovation, marking the initial phase of a wider science park.

Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli, England, underwent a £14.5m healthcare development by Hywel Dda University Health Board. Completed with funding from the Welsh Government, the project, managed by Lee Wakemans, added two new operating theatres, enhancing surgical capacity and patient care while promoting efficient clinical workflows.

A £20 million healthcare improvement project at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend involved the modular refurbishment of six operating theatres to modernize surgical facilities. Completed for Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, the project aimed to enhance clinical environments, with cost management services provided by Lee Wakemans.

The Clock House CT Installation project in Epsom, England, was completed for Alliance Medical Limited at a cost of £200k. Simply Serve Ltd. oversaw the project, with Lee Wakemans offering cost and project management services throughout design development, technical design, construction management, and acting as Principal Designer for the healthcare installation.

The Serennu Children’s Centre Extension in Newport, England, is a £0.5m healthcare project completed for Stride Treglown. Lee Wakemans provided cost management services that facilitated the addition of therapy and activity spaces while minimizing disruption on-site, ultimately enhancing the center’s facilities for children.

The Yeovil District Hospital Emergency Department Expansion in England, costing £0.6 million and completed for Simply Serve Ltd., includes project and cost management for a new Pathology Facility and refurbishment to expand the Emergency Department. The project ensured continued hospital operations during phased reconfiguration and further expanded Urgent Treatment Centres.

The £9.8 million refurbishment of the Transitional Care Unit at Singleton Hospital in Swansea, completed for Swansea Bay University Health Board, involved cost management by Lee Wakemans. The project included the refurbishment of five Women’s Health wards, asbestos removal, and installation of air handling units, earning a Bronze Considerate Constructors Scheme Award in 2020.

We helped deliver this award-winning facility in 2015, which is the second and final phase of a multi-year project for the Children’s Hospital for Wales. 

The Accident and Emergency Department in Carmarthen, Wales, is a £5m healthcare project completed for Hywel Dda University Health Board. It features a new single-storey emergency unit and a first-floor shell for a future critical care suite, enhancing clinical capacity and flexibility with a new two-storey link corridor to existing facilities.
