Championing the Private Rented Sector at NRLA On Tour

23rd May 2025

On Tuesday 20th May 2025, Charlotte Evans, Business Development Representative at Lee Wakemans, attended the NRLA On Tour event at Cardiff City Stadium -- a major date in the calendar for anyone involved in the private rented sector (PRS) across Wales.

The event, hosted by the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA) -- the UK's largest landlord body with over 110,000 members -- brought together landlords, developers, legal professionals, and local authority representatives for a packed afternoon of discussion, updates, and networking.

Charlotte, a landlord herself and an active NRLA member, found the event an ideal setting for reconnecting with colleagues from Caerphilly County Borough Council (including panellist Kerry Denman) and making valuable new connections within the sector.

"It's fantastic to see a room full of people who are passionate about delivering better outcomes in the PRS. The conversations I had were both insightful and full of opportunity - it's clear that collaboration is more important than ever." - Charlotte Evans

The agenda featured a standout panel discussion on the future of the PRS in Wales, hosted by the NRLA's Eleanor Bateman, and featuring panellists from Tai Pawb, Red Kite Law, and the NRLA itself. Other key sessions included:

Welsh Government and Shadow Cabinet Housing Updates

UK Economic Market Insight from Ian Derrick of the Bank of England

Welsh Government Housing Strategy with James Hooker

A closing address from Ben Beadle, NRLA CEO, on navigating the future of the PRS

The event was proudly sponsored by Total Property, showcasing their ongoing commitment to supporting compliance and professional standards in the sector.

At Lee Wakemans, we recognise the value of platforms like NRLA On Tour, which bring together sector voices to improve understanding, share challenges, and explore opportunities. We remain committed to supporting the housing sector -- from landlord development advice to project and cost management for new PRS schemes.

Thank you to the NRLA team for an informative and engaging afternoon.
