Celebrating our interns: Tony and Wajiya
3rd Sep 2025
We're pleased to shine a spotlight on our two interns, Tony and Wajiya, who joined Lee Wakemans a few weeks ago and are due to submit their dissertations next week. In a short time they've brought energy, curiosity and real value - exactly what we hope for when we welcome early-career talent into the business.
Why internships matter to us
As a RICS-regulated consultancy, we aim to deliver a service that's smooth, efficient and consistently high quality. That relies on continuous improvement - of our systems, our workflows and the everyday experience of our people. Internships help us do that: they bring fresh thinking, challenge assumptions and accelerate the small changes that add up to better outcomes for our clients and our team.
The difference they've made already
Working alongside our project managers and cost consultants, Tony and Wajiya have helped us to:
- Review and streamline internal processes so handovers and approvals feel smoother.
- Refresh working templates and checklists to support consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Identify simple improvements that save time and make day-to-day work easier for everyone.
These are practical wins that support our overall goal: excellent client service and a positive working environment.
Partnership with Cardiff University
Our thanks go to the Work Placement team at Cardiff University for connecting us with Tony and Wajiya. We're proud to support students with real-life case studies that build confidence and capability for their future careers - and we're equally grateful for the insight they've brought to us.
Looking ahead
With dissertations due next week, we're excited to see what Tony and Wajiya have in store over the coming weeks. They've been a breath of fresh air, and while we've supported them, they've supported us too.
Thank you, Tony and Wajiya - and good luck with the final push on your dissertations!
