Velindre @ Nevill Hall Radiotherapy Unit, Abergavenny is a £38m healthcare development delivered for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board as part of the Transforming Cancer Services Programme.

Lee Wakemans was appointed as Cost Advisor for this state-of-the-art satellite radiotherapy unit at Nevill Hall Hospital, designed to operate as an extension of the Velindre Cancer Centre. Scheduled to open in summer 2025, the facility was developed to bring specialist cancer treatment closer to patients’ homes across south-east Wales, increasing regional radiotherapy capacity by up to 20%. The new unit included two radiotherapy bunker rooms housing advanced linear accelerator machines, together with CT simulation facilities, radiotherapy planning and education space, and areas for on-treatment reviews, helping to improve access to modern cancer care while reducing travel times for patients and carers.
