Our Appointment to Provide Management Services for One of Cardiff's Biggest Hotel & Restaurant Schemes

18th Jun 2019

We have been appointed to provide Cost Management and Employers Agent services to Ascent Development, who are developing the proposed 20 storey, city-centre Premier Inn Hotel.

The planning application for the 248-bedroom hotel was secured last November, and work on site has now commenced, following the demolition of the York Building and Custom House Building at the bottom of St Mary Street in Cardiff City Centre. The listed Custom House facades will be retained.

Funding for the project has been secured through Aviva Investors' Lime Property Fund in a deal worth 34m.

Speaking of our appointment, Kevin Parry, Director at Lee Wakemans said,

"We are looking forward to working closely with Ascent Development on this significant Welsh scheme. The hotel is being sensitively redeveloped and will bring a number of benefits with it, both during its construction and throughout its lifetime.

"Lee Wakemans is adept at providing cost management and employers agent services on projects of this scale. Our cost management services enable our clients to make informed decisions throughout their project's build, in the secure knowledge that they have full control over the project's costs."

The hotel is set to open towards the end of 2019.
